Meet Allen
Allen J. Wiener is the author of David Crockett in Texas: His Search for New Land, Channeling Elvis: How Television Saved the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, and The Beatles: The Ultimate Recording Guide.
He is also the co-author of David Crockett in Congress: The Rise and Fall of the Poor Man’s Friend—winner of the 2010 Independent Publisher Award for Regional Non-Fiction—and Music of the Alamo.
His writing has appeared in the Washington Post, Nashville Tennessean, People, American History, Goldmine, Western Clippings, and numerous other publications and journals.
Wiener’s work offers fresh insight into iconic figures, from reclaiming David Crockett's real-life legacy to reframing Elvis Presley’s career through the lens of television. A native of New Jersey now living in Florida, he sees these subjects not as distant legends but as complex individuals whose true stories remain essential to understanding American culture.
